Old man summer has gone to sleep, and the new guy – baby winter – is getting ready to roar. For we northern lubbers anyway, here’s a reminder of pleasantness past.
Zodiac? Not sure what a photographer can make of that.
But here’s something halloweenly topical.
An impossible task! How does one isolate one colour from another? Even grey, black, and white take their rightful place in the spectrum.
What on earth can render us more breathless than this planet we call home?
Here I am, imagining that someone is scritching my head.
Callling all photographers!
Not to demean the efforts of the daily prompt, but some of these challenges on the daily prompt really don’t work for photographers. They’re great for writers, who can approach them from whatever angle they like, but for photographers they are often cryptic and unwieldy – nigh unuseable.
In my opinion, we need a daily photo prompt. Prompts designed for photographers, subjects that invite the interplay of light and love that only a photographer can offer and that only a camera can deliver.
How about it, WordPress? How about starting a daily photo prompt for the long-suffering, weight-of-the-world-bearing photographers in our midst?
Nope, it’s a trick of the eye.
Behold the mists of time
In which stands the foundation
Of everything we believe.
Odd that the fundament becomes less clear with time –
…that time itself makes time less clear, even as it fritters away.
I’m afraid I’m a bluff old traditionalist. Let’s face it, the new and different can be fresh for a time, but once you realize that at its core it’s nothing more than a re-combination of the old elements it all falls back on what you like and what you don’t. I don’t know if this amounts to ‘settling back into comfortable patterns’, or if the soul just knows what it likes, but I lean toward the latter. I mean, hasn’t it been proven that as human beings we seek out harmony as a natural state of being?
Once we play with the new and different for a while, we always come back to what we know and love.
